Do you hear them?
Those voices?
They say I’m not good!
"You are trash!
You are stupid!
You’ll never amount to anything!"
Over and over the tape plays.
Scripted by another.
Who would have thought that they,
were the words of her mother.
Held closer than her heart to her soul,
She became the product of the only words she’d ever known.
Why must we be so cruel?
I wish for the love, respect, kindness and acceptance.
This is lifes perfect school.
